Clear, reliable information about common eye conditions, warning signs, testing, and treatment options.
Use these guides to prepare for a visit or better understand a diagnosis. They do not replace an examination or individualized medical advice.
Sudden vision changes should not wait
Call immediately for sudden vision loss, a curtain or shadow, a new shower of floaters or flashes, severe eye pain, chemical exposure, or a painful red eye—especially with contact-lens wear. If you cannot reach an eye doctor and symptoms are severe, seek emergency care.
