HEALTHY WEAR HABITS

Protect your eyes while enjoying contact lenses

Good habits lower the risk of infection and irritation. Follow your clinician’s specific instructions and the lens manufacturer’s replacement schedule.

Keep water away

Remove lenses before showering, swimming, or using a hot tub. Never rinse or store contact lenses in tap water.

Use clean, dry hands

Wash with soap and water and dry thoroughly before touching your lenses or eyes.

Respect wear time

Do not sleep in lenses unless your eye-care professional has specifically prescribed overnight wear.

Remove your lenses and contact an eye-care professional promptly if you develop pain, marked redness, light sensitivity, discharge, or decreased vision. Review additional safety guidance from the CDC.
