WHY EYE EXAMS MATTER

Protecting vision starts with a complete view of your eye health

A comprehensive exam checks more than whether you need new glasses. It can also identify eye disease before you notice meaningful changes in vision.

Routine vision care

Update your glasses or contact-lens prescription and discuss changes in reading, computer use, night driving, or visual comfort.

Medical eye care

Evaluate symptoms and manage conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, dry eye, and eyelid concerns.

Surgical expertise

Receive coordinated evaluation and follow-up for cataract surgery, laser vision correction, glaucoma procedures, retinal surgery, and eyelid surgery.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A thorough exam, explained clearly

Your visit is tailored to your age, symptoms, medical history, and risk factors. Testing may include:

  • A review of your eye health, medications, family history, and current concerns
  • Visual-acuity testing and refraction to measure how clearly you see
  • Evaluation of eye alignment, pupils, peripheral vision, and eye pressure
  • A microscope examination of the front of the eye
  • A dilated retinal examination when appropriate for your care

Dilation can temporarily blur near vision and increase light sensitivity. Bring sunglasses and ask our team whether you should arrange a driver. Learn more about dilated exams from the National Eye Institute.

COORDINATED CARE

One practice for routine, medical, and surgical needs

Your care plan may begin with a routine exam and continue with a specialist, diagnostic testing, surgery, or optical services when needed.

Cataract care

Evaluation, surgery planning, and intraocular lens options—including advanced technology lenses.

Dry eye care

Testing and treatment selected around the type and cause of your symptoms.

Glasses and contacts

Prescription eyewear, contact-lens fittings, and help finding a comfortable visual solution.
