Alexander Kosmidis, MD

Dr. Kosmidis was born and raised in North Olmsted, Ohio, and graduated from North Olmsted High School. In his early years, he was an acclaimed competitive concert pianist, touring both locally and abroad in numerous piano competitions and performing concerti with orchestras and chamber ensembles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music.

Transitioning careers, Dr. Kosmidis graduated from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and earning membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He completed his medical degree at CWRU School of Medicine. He served his internship in the Transitional Year Program at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Kosmidis returned to Cleveland to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at CWRU/University Hospitals of Cleveland Department of Ophthalmology. He then completed his Fellowship in Glaucoma at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. Serving as Clinical Faculty and Glaucoma specialist with the Louisiana State University Department of Ophthalmology in both New Orleans and Houma (Louisiana), he taught residents in both clinical and surgical practice, while also mentoring new Glaucoma Fellows. He concurrently worked in private practice with the Eye Surgery Center of Louisiana, serving the surrounding communities of New Orleans. Dr. Kosmidis is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Kosmidis has returned to the area, living in the West Side of Cleveland with his wife, Aryn, and their adorable cat, Zulu Zydeco (“ZZ”). He returns to Northeast Ohio enthusiastic to provide quality comprehensive ophthalmologic care and expert Glaucoma services to this community that has always been home.
